Fred N. Voran passed away June 2, 2022 at age 94 in Allen Park. Beloved husband of Barbara for 50 years. Loving father of Eleana (Bradley) Keding, Renee (Phill) Lintern and Fred Voran Jr. Dearest grandfather of Dresden and Brayden Keding. Dear brother-in-law of Jean Voran, Ann Tanner, Wendell Webb, George Webb, Bonnie Dunavant, and John Hojnacki. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Eleana Vorobchevici and his siblings George Voran, Bette Voran, Denny Voran and his twin Nick (Alice Jane) Voran. Fred will be deeply missed by family and friends.

As co-founder of Voran Funeral Home, Fred and his brother Denny built and opened the Allen Park chapel in 1951. With subsequent chapels, Dearborn (1960) and Taylor (1966), he spent his life serving his community at their time of need as a funeral director. In addition to his dedication to families, he was an avid supporter of local schools, churches and organizations. Fred served our country with honors as he enlisted into the Merchant Marines immediately after high school. He will also be remembered as a proud WW II Veteran. Fred was a long time member of the Allen Park Knights of Columbus, Allen Park Elks, the Melvindale Exchange Club, and the Moose Lodge. Affectionately known by many as ‘Mr Fred’, he was a kind, caring man with a great sense of humor and a quiet contemplative nature. He was a passionate golfer and a lifetime member of the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club since 1959. Fred also loved bowling, watching any sport, spending time with his family, and patronizing the local bars and restaurants. Throughout his life he enjoyed going on cruises, traveling to Florida and going to Detroit sporting events, especially Red Wings games. In his later years he found much enjoyment in following the many pursuits of his grandsons.
